The University of Johannesburg tasked us with creating a campaign that would engage with the various students and allow them to immerse themselves in the sports culture of the university. We conceptualised a Fantasy League campaign that had a dedicated microsite, as well as a Facebook tab, which would utilise the real players of the university’s sports, as well as tie into the social rewards programme that was rolled out by FGX Studios and UJ.
Although the Fantasy League was run over many of the different sports, this case study focuses on the soccer league.
The UJ Soccer Fantasy League had unprecedented success and uptake during its flighting. Students were heavily engrossed with the campaign, and participation also reached an all-time high. The Social Rewards integration also had a bigger uptake, resulting in many badges being rewarded for action by students.
